Biostatistics Center

The Biostatistics Center was established in 2004 by funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology to conduct the first biostatistics program in medical schools in Japan.

The main aim of the center is to produce professional biostatisticians and biostatistical researchers who are expected to contribute in various fields including educational institutions, biomedical research centers and the pharmaceutical industries.

In particular, the center focuses on research in biostatistics related to drug development using genomics information. To this end, the center offers unique opportunities in both education and research through collaboration with domestic and foreign universities, biomedical research institutions and industry. The center started offering an MS degree program in 2004, and plans to start a Ph.D. program in 2005.
