Cancer Vaccine Center

The Kurume University Cancer Vaccine Center was founded in 2013. The main objective of this Cancer Vaccine Center is development of effective cancer vaccine therapies in collaboration with the Research Center for Innovative Cancer Therapy.

The Cancer Vaccine Center is located on the second floor of the Outpatient Clinic Building of Medical Center at Kokubu-machi campus. The center consists of cancer vaccine outpatient clinic and clinical research laboratories for immunological analysis. More than 40 clinical trials of peptide-based cancer vaccines including two phase III IND (investigational new drug application) trials of a personalized peptide vaccine for advanced glioblastomas and castration-resistant prostate cancer are currently underway. Translational researches on combination therapies of personalized peptide vaccination with anti-cancer agents, antibodies, or traditional Chinese herbal medicines to improve anti-cancer clinical effects as well as quality of life of the patients are also conducted.
